The love story of Gbemisola and Omotade who found love on a Lagos-Ibadan Train

We met at the Ebute Metta Train Station on a cool Saturday morning in August 2021.

Our first meeting was at Ebute Metta Train Station where we exchanged pleasantries and took some pictures.

He was travelling with some of our mutual friends for a wedding in Ibadan, while I was going on a weekend getaway trip to the same city. Everyone had agreed to travel via train, as it was the safest and most fun option at the time. We had booked reservations to stay in the same hotel in Ibadan as well. Little did we know that God had something marvellous planned for us. Having mutual friends made conversation and bonding easy.

All through our stay in Ibadan, he kept checking in on me and making sure I was comfortable at every given chance he had.

The boy was already feeling the girl at this point. I was finally invited to and attended the Wedding After-Party.

We had so much fun on the trip. We danced together, played games, took pictures at the hotel, visited a mall in Ibadan and boarded the same train back to Lagos. Undoubtedly, we had already become friends by this time.

The wedding/weekend getaway ended and everyone went back to their normal lives, but we stayed in touch. The usual conversation and everyday calling began. He was very caring and so intentional.

One day in October 2021, he asked to start serious a relationship with me. At first, I was sceptical because of unpleasant experiences in past relationships. However, he proved himself to be different. In Dec 2021, after much prayerful consideration, I finally agreed and we dated for 11 months. He turned out to be the BEST MAN I could ever pray for.

Our love grew deeper and stronger by the day. Finally, in December 2022, he had planned the most beautiful proposal, went on bended knees and asked me to marry him. And boy! I gave a resounding YES!
