Sean “Diddy” Combs was recently arrested on September 16, 2024, and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. According to the federal indictment, Combs is accused of abusing, threatening, and coercing women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct over several decades.
A video of his arrest shows Combs being approached by federal agents in the lobby of the Park Hyatt New York, and then being led away in handcuffs. Initially, his lawyers put together a $50 million bond package, claiming Combs had voluntarily traveled to New York knowing an arrest was imminent. However, the bail package was denied by a New York City judge, and Combs was placed on suicide watch at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City while awaiting trial set for 9th October.
Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, has stated that the rapper is “not at all suicidal” and is instead “strong, healthy, confident and focused on his defense”. Agnifilo also mentioned that Combs has been in treatment and therapy for personal issues, including drug use and toxic relationships.
